Ramadan, a holy month for Muslims, and Aidilfitri or Eid Fitr known as Hari raya in Malaysia and Singapore, the joyous celebration that follows, present unique opportunities and challenges for businesses. Consumer behavior shifts significantly during this period, with increased online activity and a focus on gifting and celebrations. To capitalize on this, businesses must adopt a robust omnichannel strategy, seamlessly integrating various channels to engage customers effectively and drive sales.
This blog will explore how businesses in Malaysia and Singapore are able to leverage WhatsApp as a core component of their omnichannel strategy to maximize sales during Ramadan and Aidilfitri.
Omnichannel commerce plays a pivotal role in maximizing sales during this period. It involves seamlessly integrating sales and marketing efforts across various channels, including in-store, online, mobile, social media, and messaging apps like WhatsApp. This integrated approach ensures a consistent and personalized customer experience, regardless of how they choose to interact with your brand.
Aidilfitri or Raya shopping typically begins with online exploration in the first half of Ramadan. During the first half of the month, customers browse the internet and social media to discover brands and products for Raya, such as clothing, accessories, cookies, house electronics and other household items but during that time, breaking fast booking in restaurants and hotels will take priority. As Ramadan progresses, shopping activity intensifies as consumers prepare for Raya celebrations. To capitalize on this trend, businesses must implement effective Ramadan/Raya marketing campaigns and streamline their sales processes.
